lisa with booksI’m excited to have reached the one hundred article milestone on the Halo Publishing blog. I hope you are enjoying the articles and finding tips and techniques to help you in the process of marketing our self-published book. My primary focus is to find ways to help authors; to encourage them to make their dream a reality. On this Labor Day, I’m here to tell you that working with our authors is a true labor of love and I wanted to tell you a little bit more about them.

I thought this would be a good time to tell you a little bit about Halo Publishing and the authors that we are blessed to have as part of our family. And I say family because that is truly the environment we foster.

As author myself, I know how important it is to have a support network that encourages you along the way. Writing can be a lonely business and to have the support from people who have already pioneered the path to publication can be priceless.

Some people have assumed that because I have written children’s books that we are strictly a children’s publishing house but that couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, I’d like to take a moment and introduce you to a small sampling of the authors from Halo Publishing who have successfully self-published children’s books, poetry, inspirational memoirs, fiction, and business books.

Take for example Dr. Jose Colon, who has published both children’s and adult books on the subject of sleeping disorders.

Dr. Jose Colon is the founder of Paradise Sleep, an organization dedicated to education in sleep health. Dr. Colon is dual board certified in sleep medicine and neurology with special qualifications in child neurology. He also has Masters in Public Health, in Child and Maternal Health, and through Paradise Sleep he educates in sleep health topics that impact public health, yet are not routinely taught in school or at times in medical curriculum

Kasey Kellem is another author who has published both adult and children books. As someone who has had her life touched by cancer, she calls on her personal experience to write her books. Kasey, a School Counselor and former Special Education Teacher, has devoted her life to helping children facing adversity be resilient. Kasey created Mind Over Matter (M.O.M.) books to teach children skills to overcome life’s challenges

Don’t Stop Believing: Our Journey with Cancer is a memoir about a husband and wife’s 2 ½ year experience with terminal prostate cancer. Despite the prognosis, this couple embraced life, surrounded themselves with family and friends, and celebrated every milestone. This book is to inspire anyone facing an illness, along with their caregiver, so they may still live life to the fullest with faith, gratitude, perseverance and courage.

Mo Kasti is a professional in the healthcare industry and his book is about Medical Business.
